Proposed cuts to Exmouth Hospital

August 11, 2016 10:36 PM

Exmouth Liberal Democrat Councillor Steve Gazzard has requested the proposed cuts to the hospital services to go to the next full town council meeting in September for discussion. He had also requested someone from the hospital trust comes along to discuss the changes.

Exmouth Lib Dems are concerned about the cuts which would see the closure of the injuries unit from 10pm, and patients having to travel to Exeter. There has been no consultation with local GPS, patient or community groups.

Questions that need answering include the assumption that as Exmouth is 'within 30 minutes' of the Exeter hospital this is sufficient. This does not take into account journey times on public transport and is likely to impact the most vulnerable.
